How to measure the ideal cult member

ARTICLE - The Mathmatics of choosing an Ideal Cult member

There is a book called "Geek Logic" by Garth Sundem that has created a list of formulas for decision making.

It's quite a blast because it strips emotions out of decisions that SHOULD be logical in the first place. For example given the choice between buying a lottery ticket and putting the 5 bucks into savings the LOGICAL choice is save the money. But how many of us yield to logic?

Another example is to ask how many bad relationships have you gotten into by ignoring the logic of the situation?

Turning a choice into a mathimatical formula makes these decisions obvious.

It also prompted me to ask "What would be some useful decision making formulas that would help us through life?"

I came up with one that is "The ideal cult member."

Here are the variables:

Sanity = S (0 = psychotic stalker, 5 = Emotionally Stable )

Experimental = E ( 0 = fearful with lots of rules, 5 = fun loving gregarious and experimental )

Baggage = B ( 0 = broke, with kids, on meds with lots of issues , 5 = completely independant and making good income )

Attractive = A ( 1 = "I might have sex with if I were drunk", 5 = "I would have sex with 3 times for sure.", 9 = "I'd be happy having sex with this one forever." )

[ (S^2) x (2B) x E ] + A

Note that if S, B or E are zero it would bring the score down to single digits.

1253 = The ideal cult member

701 and up = Join my inner circle

501 to 700 = initiate to first level

99 to 500 = must pay for more training

9 to 99 = run

The Need to Honor Community Heroes Still Strong

Who are the country's most courageous people? In many people's minds, it's the heroes in their communities: firefighters, police officers and emergency response teams.

Firefighters and police officers were ranked among the country's most prestigious professions in a poll conducted by Harris Interactive. According to the survey, prestige is strongly associated with respect, public service and good work, and professions with high prestige are those that benefit society and the people they serve.

Yet prestige isn't necessarily what they face in a dangerous job in which their lives are at risk every day.

The Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks brought to national attention the need for better emergency response equipment and technology. Toy drives, pancake breakfasts and other fundraising events are just some of the ways communities have come together since then to raise money to help their local heroes.

Many U.S. companies continue to support the cause as well. Wal-Mart stores, for example, give to these organizations on an ongoing basis. And, as a part of their annual nationwide emphasis on safety in October, each of the 3,700 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club locations provides a special grant to local law enforcement officers and firefighters through their "Safe Neighborhood Heroes" program. This year, the company will provide a total of $8 million in $1,000 grants from each of its stores to local fire, police and emergency response teams.

Men - Why Do You Batter Women?

In this century when we all talk of exploring mars and reaching help to the deep corners of Africa, is it not only surprising and also shameful that some men batter their wives? Whatever we say, we cannot deny that women are getting battered. A syndrome has also been names after this - Battered Women syndrome. Why should men beat women? Let us look at this barbarism.

Frustration must be one of the reasons. Do men enjoy taking out their frustration of career failures and problems on women? Or they are sadists? If they do not like their woman, they should separate. How can they be allowed to beat women? That is reprehensible and barbaric. How can an educated man beat a woman? What drives him to do that? Is their any profile of such men who do this?

What if the woman is not meek and retaliates. There will be bloodshed. Why a beautiful relationship reaches such depths is beyond my imagination and thinking. How society allows this. Why such men are not boycotted from the society? What is the problem with such men that they batter their woman?

As men, we are protectors of women and not supposed to beat them. Why do we men do it? In a survey in India, it was found that a majority of men who beat women come from highly educated class. This is more shocking. These men keep a mask of good behavior in society and beat the woman in the confines of their home. Please let all men decide that come what may, they will never ever batter their woman. That is inhuman.

Love - Thoughts On Love

Love is the word that makes one go into dreams of bliss and the word that can take one into pain. It all depends, how your love turned out. If you were stabbed in the back, pain will be the result and if you got loyalty, it will be pleasure. When one looks at the scenes of destruction of ones love, when one revisits the places where love had blossomed, below the flowering trees, one goes in to the memories of the lost love. It hurts and it hurts very badly. Similarly the love that enriches us can be invaluable. It gives a new breath, a new life. Love can give life and when lost, life may be lost. Call it addiction to love or whatever, love is a feeling that cannot be described in words. it has to be felt.

We hear about many break-ups and separations. What happened to the love that brought the couple together in the beginning? How can ex lovers talk of revenge? In love, there is no revenge. If your beloved stabs you in the back, you will not ask for revenge, because you loved and you still love. As I have yet to talk to someone who stabbed the beloved, I do not know about his or her thinking, but it must be that of - how could I do this? Or may be they are so evil that they applaud themselves for their backstabbing!

Love is sublime. Love gives power. Love gives determination. In love, many lovers do what they could never dream of. Empires have been sacrificed for love. Battles have been fought for love. Love has ruled mankind since ages. Those who experience love are truly lucky.

Mural Painting System Brings Life to Industrial Area

Americans memorialize those who have sacrificed their lives in a variety of ways. One man is making it easy to do it artistically.

A 20-by-25-foot memorial in Seattle to those who suffered in New York during Sept. 11 features a well-known photograph that reminds viewers of the strength of emergency personnel during that time. The image, originally taken by Thomas E. Franklin of the Bergen Record, was painted directly on the side of a building in October 2001 by John Tideman, an inventor based in Bothell, Wash. The process took 24 hours.

Tideman has developed a machine that can safely reproduce any image on a large surface. This computer-driven device, called an Automated Mural Imagery System, can paint a mural on any flat surface, including glass windows and wet plaster. Tideman used it to paint the well-publicized photo along a mural corridor just south of downtown Seattle.

In an industrial area that has been covered with graffiti and gang insignias, Tideman's mural remains undisturbed years after it was first painted, indicating the depth and strength of the image in the hearts of all Americans.

Now that pictures can be created on any surface with Tideman's fast, safe and inexpensive equipment, towns and cities have a better opportunity to honor heroes, display works of art or convey cultural expressions. Rather than conveying neglect or being an eyesore, blank walls can now bring expressions of life to a community.

Shriners' "Oldest Poster Boy"

Although comedian and actor Pat Morita has passed away, his influence on Shriners Hospitals for Children will continue to live on. Morita, perhaps best known for his role of Mr. Miyagi in "The Karate Kid" movies, was an active supporter of Shriners Hospitals throughout his life. Now his family has established the "Pat Morita Memorial Fund" of SHC in his honor.

Morita was born in California on June 28, 1932, and his connection with Shriners Hospitals began at a young age. When Morita was 2 years old, he was afflicted with spinal tuberculosis and his family was told he would never walk again. At the age of 9, Morita entered the San Francisco Shriners Hospital where he had extensive spinal surgery and learned to walk again. He was released at age 11 and immediately transported to reunite with his Japanese-American family at an internment camp in Arizona, where they were held for the duration of World War II.

Despite these challenges, he compiled an impressive list of "firsts" during his career in show business. He had a recurring role as Arnold on "Happy Days" and later starred in his own sitcom. Morita was the first Asian American nominated for an Academy Award, for Best Supporting Actor as Mr. Miyagi in "The Karate Kid."

Morita always credited Shriners Hospitals with providing the specialized care that allowed him to walk. Joking that he was the Shriners' "oldest poster boy," he appeared at many of their events to thank them for the help he received.

Unique Gift Giving Through Shriners Hospitals

Those in search of an unforgettable and timeless gift may find an excellent opportunity in a surprising place. In a gesture that gives in more ways than one, you can recognize loved ones and admired role models by naming a physical structure at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Donations may be designated at any of the 22 Shriners Hospitals. Structures include buildings, wings, hospital rooms and other major public or patient areas.

Shriners Hospitals for Children-Twin Cities was the first hospital to have a donation designated under these guidelines. The donor, the Kerry and Linda Killinger Foundation, donated $1 million in honor of Linda Killinger's father, Richard G. Cottington. Staff at the Twin Cities hospital held a recognition ceremony to designate the room, and the Richard G. Cottington Operating Room is now marked with a beautiful plaque.

Cottington is a Past Potentate, or president, of Abu Bekr Shriners in Sioux City, Iowa, and a Past Board Member of the Twin Cities Shriners Hospital.

"My father is thrilled with the opportunity to contribute to Shriners Hospitals," said Kil-linger. "We hope that our gift will inspire others to donate to your worthy cause."

Suggested levels for recognition:

Building-$25 million

Wing-$10 million

Major Area such as a courtyard or auditorium-$5 million

Operating Rooms, Treatment Rooms-$1 million

Patient Rooms, Hallways, Other Rooms-$250,000

Other Capital Items-100 percent of the cost

Love - Forgiveness Is True Love

Most of the lovers do not forgive their loved ones. They may forgive their sworn enemy, but they may not forgive their lover. Do you agree with me? Why is this so? It should have been exactly reverse. Why, let us discuss.

What is love? What do we understand by loving someone? How is love different than other relationships and emotions? In love, we give our whole mind and heart to our beloved. We try to keep our beloved most comfortable. We take care not to hurt our darling. In love, we care for each other. We are in the mood of giving in love. Giving always gives more pleasure in love than anything else.

If our darling makes a mistake, shall we berate them? Shall we blame them and give them pain? Shall we hold it against them forever? Shall we call them betrayer? If we do all this then it is not love, but a business relationship. I have given you so much now you give your truth, faithfulness and everything else in return.

In love, we have to forgive. We have to pacify our beloved that mistakes are a way of life and everybody does them. We have to tell them not to worry and we are with them. We have to tell them to stop thinking of what happened and think of good things and try to live life joyously. But a majority of us behaves in reverse. That is our failure. It was never love to begin with. If you believe that you love your darling, please learn forgiving.

Make Sure Your Costume Fits

There is nothing more frustrating than finding the ideal costume and then once you get it home realizing it does not fit. So before you start shopping for your perfect Halloween costume, make sure that you have all the information that you need to ensure a proper fit.

Measurements

Before you go out costume shopping, get a tape measure out. A cloth or plastic tape measure found in craft stores is going to be a lot easier to use than a heavy construction-grade one, and you can usually find them in the same section as other sewing supplies. Take a full list of measurements, including arm, chest, hips, inseam, neck, and waist. You may need to ask for assistance if you are taking measurements on yourself. That way, when you are looking at the size charts for the particular brand of costumes, you can make sure the one that you are buying will fit.

Sizing Notes

When you are shopping you will often see sizing notes from the manufacturer. Take those to heart, and if it says an item runs big or runs small believe them. If there are no notes, you can usually assume that the costume runs true to size. Some people still choose to buy a size larger in some styles to allow them to wear layers underneath if the weather is cold. Remember that trick-or-treating and Halloween parties can go on for several hours, and an ill-fitting costume will not be comfortable for very long.

Don't forget accessories

Some accessories can also be dangerous if they do not fit properly. Make sure that masks do not slip down into your face and watch for any dangling accessories that could become tripping hazards.

Shorten things that are too long

Fitting kids for costumes, and even smaller adults, can be a bit of a challenge if a costume is designed to fit “most” people in that size range. Skirts, slacks, and long capes and robes can present a tripping hazard when you are out at the party or running from house to house while trick-or-treating. Long sleeves can catch on items and tear, or accidentally fall into candle flames and catch fire. Always wear these costumes with care, and if it is a child's costume consider hemming or pinning the costume to avoid accidents.

A properly fitting Halloween costume will make your Halloween much more fun and memorable. By knowing how to fit the costume properly, you can guarantee that you will find the right costume the first time.

Los 7 Mejores Musicales

Aquí te presento una lista de las películas mas destacadas en la sección de musicales para que disfrutes y entretengas.

La novicia rebelde (The Sound of Music):

Legacies Are Societal Actions

Have you ever thought that you have not done much with your life? During a recent conversation with a very dear friend, she expressed this very same sentiment. I was astounded that this energetic, high family and work ethic person had this negative self-image, but pleased that she felt comfortable sharing this thought.

Quickly, I began to ask her questions about all of the “Legacies” that she had left in this world during the last 60 plus years. Since her retirement, she relocated to be near her daughters, grandchildren and in-laws to support them. This support included taking her grandchildren to necessary school functions, being there for them after school while still being actively involved in her church and local civic organizations. Her high values, unselfish and positive attitudes to overcome life’s challenges became a rock for her family and friends. As we continued to talk, she expressed several times how I made her feel much better. Her honesty provided me with the opportunity to return one of the many legacies that she had shared with me during our 30 plus year friendship.

After our conversation ended, I began to wonder why someone with such incredible gifts and who had personally left countless individual legacies with so many people had such feelings of inadequacy?

Possibly, the presence of the media from local newspapers to television to the Internet may contribute to the development of these feelings. When we hear and see the success of others who have reached high positions whether in business or government, we may start comparing our accomplishments with these high profile media persons. Unfortunately what happens is that many of our “average” citizens fail to understand that it is these average citizens who are the backbone of this country and without their legacies we would not be the country that we are. Plato recognized the importance of citizens over 2000 years ago when he wrote, “ This City is what it is because our citizens are what they are.”

Each of us lives a legacy, not when we are gone from this earth, but when we are here. Our legacy may be something as simple as a smile to a complete stranger to taking the time to help a friend or co-worker through a difficult situation.

Just imagine what the world could be like if everyone looked at every interaction as an opportunity to leave a legacy? What would happen to your personal relationships if you intentionally acted with the desired end result to make each and every interchange one in which you left a legacy that the other person could build upon and then later share with another? Or how about at work? What additional heights could your team reach and how much stronger would your organization be by such “Legacy Leaving Actions”?

With the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the fourth anniversary of 9/11 on the horizon, the American public is being reminded of the importance of legacies. Citizens both private and corporate across the country are demonstrating “Legacy Leaving Actions” by donating their time and resources to help those affected by this natural disaster. Through the stories of those who survived 9/11 and those who didn’t, again, American citizens can hear and even see how they, average American citizens, left legacies during that fateful day which changed our country forever.

Legacies are intentional societal choices that we make every day. By being aware of these choices, makes us better citizens, better parents, better friends and ultimately makes for a better world for our children and the next generation. So as you venture forth today or tomorrow, ask yourself “Where can I leave my legacy?” and “How will that legacy benefit another citizen?”

Lee Meekcoms Sees Housing and Recreation Trends Shift as Baby Boomers Enter Retirement

With the first of the Baby Boomers cashing Social Security checks, it's not surprising that everyone from real estate investors to financial analysts are sitting up and taking notice. The sheer numbers that make up this generation – over 78 million according to the U.S. Census Bureau – have made Boomers de facto trendsetters. "Baby Boomers have more accumulated wealth than any previous generation, and they're positioned downstream from a river of assets that they will inherit from their parents," says Leon D. Meekcoms, President of Parkbridge Capital Group, Inc. (www.parkbridgecapital.com), a privately held real estate investment, acquisition, and brokerage firm. "Their financial position and increased longevity are translating into decisive new trends in the housing industry."

According to Meekcoms, whose career in real estate sales, acquisition, and development has spanned more than 25 years, the most notable recreational trend among the Boomer demographic are those who termed "splitters," or people who have two residences. "Dual season residency is skyrocketing, with people choosing to go north from the spring to the fall and spend other half of the year in the south," he says. In addition, close to a half million people live and travel full-time in their RVs, with millions more dividing their time between RV travel and a home base, often in a manufactured home community or RV resort.

In contrast to traditional "snowbirds," this generation tends to be more active and, like their predecessors, is quite cost-conscious. They have a reasonable expectation of living a quarter of century and longer in retirement or semi-retirement, and don't want to outlive their money. "While Boomers are affluent, they are smart about how they're going to invest and spend, and will plan for the future," says Meekcoms.

This is one reason why Parkbridge Capital Group, Inc. has focused on acquiring a portfolio of manufactured home communities and recreational vehicle resorts. "People want the benefits associated with a mobile lifestyle without the high overhead. In buying and upgrading these properties to maximize investor return, we also provide tenants with a splendid environment. In short, everyone wins," he says.

Parkbridge Capital is a prime example of a company that has positioned itself to take advantage of the Baby Boomer wave. There aren't a massive number of larger, quality manufactured home communities and RV resorts, so the market forces of supply and demand are almost certain to force prices up in coming years. In the meantime, the company's properties also appeal to the growing number of Americans who want to vacation closer to home or stay in the U.S. "Because of gas prices, people are beginning to shy away from long trips, and prefer the amenities of resorts that are within driving distance of their homes, or locales where they can stay and recreate for the season," says Meekcoms.

As a Baby Boomer himself, he has an inside track on this trendsetting generation. "On the whole, we have more time, more money, and better long-term health prospects than previous generations. We want to enjoy a flexible lifestyle at a cost that isn't extravagant," he says. "The types of properties that our company acquires and owns with our partners are a perfect fit for mobile, cost-conscious Boomers who want the best of all worlds."

1)"Lust for Life", dirigida por Vicente Minnelli en 1952:

Join The Fight Against Racism And Hatred

In 1991, a California motorist named Rodney King was brutally beaten by four police officers in an incident widely regarded as racially motivated.

The next year, the YWCA USA initiated the Day of Commitment to Eliminate Racism in response to that incident, the subsequent acquittal of the police officers charged in the case and the ensuing riots in Los Angeles.

The observance is meant to draw attention to how racism still harms our communities and to move the nation to racial justice. The YWCA feels that it's important to fight racism year-round. One of the most pernicious ways racism is exhibited is in jokes and remarks that all too often don't even register. By calling people out on even racist remarks that may be meant jokingly, we can help eliminate the attitudes that cause discrimination and hatred.

Here are some things you can do to combat bigotry:

• Be inclusive when planning meetings, activities, posters, and surveys to ensure everyone is represented, while avoiding tokenism. Make sure your organization has truly embraced diversity.

• Racial jokes aren't funny. Don't laugh. Interrupt and ask the person to stop telling the joke.

• Do not tolerate prejudiced talk or racist action. Intervene and tell those involved that their behavior is unacceptable.

• Make a list of injustices and commit to fighting them.

• Start looking at each individual as an equal and as an individual.

• Write letters to newspapers, magazines, and TV sponsors about public statements and actions that demean people.

• Set an example for your family and friends by showing an unbiased respect and acceptance of others.

• Be proud of and share your heritage so others can learn about you.

• Find others who are taking active steps to eliminate racism and join them.

Ingratitude Is Hateful

We as human beings have many qualities, both good and bad. Some of our bad traits are not very harmful, but some are never forgiven. According to Hindu philosophy, God does not forgive ingratitude under any circumstances.

What is gratitude? Simply saying 'thank you' is at times enough to express our gratitude, whereas at times, we are helped so much by someone that mere words of thanks can never repay the help. This kind of help and sharing has to be remembered by us at all the times and we should make every effort to repay that. Even if we are not able to repay the gratitude in full, our very feeling of being obliged keeps our heart pure and makes our helper feel good.

We cannot measure the value of some acts of help. There is no method to measure. Certain acts may save our life. Certain acts may support us during our worst time. How do we measure them? No amount of money or any work in return can do that. But we
can at least be ready and apply all our might to return the help in all possible ways.

A mother brings up her children with great effort. Often keeping herself hungry to feed her child. How do we repay our mother? We can at least try and see that our mother never feels helpless and alone in her old age. She is never short of money and she feels totally satisfied that her children take every care to keep her comfortable.

Similarly, we are many a times, helped in our life by our spouse. We not only feel fully supported but the sacrifice and help also overwhelms us. What if we walk out after all this? What if we leave our spouse alone to fight his/her battle after saving our own life? What if we not only forget what all was done to help us, but also see selfish reasons for that help? This is hateful and never forgiven by God. One should never commit any sin, and one should never even dream of committing the sin of ingratitude. Even hell would not accept us.

The most important thing to remember is just because their life is not horrible because of their gambling does not mean there is not a problem, many people can have serious gambling addictions and still hold down a job and make it seem as if everything is fine. This just means that this person has not hit a bottom yet, but eventually it will catch up with them.

Most addicts will stop socializing with anyone not into their addiction, so if suddenly someone you know cuts out all their friends from their life and starts to isolate themselves this can be a sign.

How to learn to in an online

Gambling in an online casino can require more and better skills then when you are playing in a land based casino. This is why it is very important to pick the online casinos that are best for you. Here I have written some helpful ideas on how to find the online casino that is right for you.

Gambling in an online casino is not exactly the same as playing in a regular casino. Yes the rules are the same but the way you play may be slightly different.

One of the major differences between gambling in an online casino and a regular land based casino is the fact that you can't look into the eyes of another player. Let's say you are playing poker and you suspect the other player may be bluffing you can look at them to try to get a read on them to see if they have a tell, but in an online casino you have to be sharper then that.

In an online casino or online poker room you need to be good enough to know from the way the other players at the table are playing if they are bluffing or not, as opposed to at a regular casino or poker room where you can look into their eyes and try to get a read on them.

Other then poker most of the games are almost exactly the same as in a land based casino. If you are new to gambling online you may want to check out some online casino review sites. These sites not only offer reviews from independent reviewers, but you can also find reviews from regular everyday players like yourself and read about their experience both good and bad and make up your own mind.

To do this I recommend going to yahoo.com and typing In casinos into the search engine, and if you check out the top 5 or 6 sites I guarantee you will find all the information on what sites are reliable and which ones are a rip off. Some of the sites even offer their readers weekly gambling Horoscopes, and recipes for foods perfect for the next time you invite the guys over for poker night.

Before spending any money in any of the online casinos, open a free account and try the games out for free, see if you enjoy the software and the different options. Make a list of things you liked and things you did not like and find the site that offers you more of what you want and less of what you do not want.

Make sure to read all of the rules for each online casino. They will tempt you by offering you bonuses just for signing up, but make sure you read and understand the rules for accepting the money before you accept it or spend any of the allegedly "free" money.

Many of the online casinos will offer you a tutorial explaining how to use the features and to play each game and I highly recommend that you use it, because if you make a mistake the online casinos will not give you a refund.

Other then this the only advice I can give is that the more you play the better you will get, and will therefore be able to win more money.

How to Find a Person Using their SSN

There are today compelling reasons ground individuals and businesses requirement to encounter discover information, especially by doing a ethnic section sort search!

These reasons crapper be for individualized or for playing purposes.

Possibly there is a requirement to do a scenery analyse on a possibleness employee, especially if you hit suspicions as to their impact record. Perhaps it’s a possibleness newborn remunerator for either a advertizement or residential concept which you are hunting at renting. The goodness of doing a ethnic section sort analyse is that it is rattling hornlike to “create” a story discover of anorectic expose and would order a commonsensible turn of assets to do so. It’s highly implausible that most grouping would modify endeavor to do so!

The reasons are quite simple! When Social Security drawing were prototypal issued in 1936, practice of the drawing was restricted to Social Security programs. Today, however, the Social Security sort (SSN) is the most ofttimes utilised achievement ownership sort in the United States. SSNs are utilised for employee files, scrutiny records, upbeat shelter accounts, assign and banking accounts, Lincoln ID cards, and whatever another purposes. So a ethnic section sort analyse is digit of the most essential origin checks utilised for indistinguishability illumination purposes!

OK – so if you’re an employer or a landlord and you poverty to encounter info most a possibleness remunerator or employee via their SSN then the prototypal see is relatively cushy and is also free! You crapper do this by logging on to the United States ethnic Security website on ssa.gov/employer/ssnv.htm. This module earmark the substantiation of up to 10 ethnic section drawing per day!

Right, that’s the cushy part. If you are same whatever grouping sometimes there’s a ‘breakdown’ in the brass grouping and the achievement of ethnic section drawing for apiece employee crapper intend untidy or perhaps you exclusive hit the SSN’s and no study to go with it then you module hit a taste of a problem!

For reasons of confidentiality and rattling importantly the hindrance of indistinguishability humbug online databases won’t be healthy to wage you with alter see records capability. The essential choice that is unstoppered to you is the ingest of a clannish policeman or utilising an online clannish enquiry service.

There is also the choice of using a clannish inquiring paying body place much as Abika.com. The instance inclose for results varies from 1 period to 3 life depending whether you are a member or not. The goodness of using a paying body place is that if the authority doesn’t become up with a constructive termination you intend a flooded refund. However these agencies order that you do whatever aggregation assembling but null likewise arduous. These searches arrange from $27 to $49.

Unfortunately in today’s concern it is also sometimes essential to analyse whether whatever SSNs are current. If you’re additionally suspicious most a ethnic section sort and are wondering if its ‘current’ there is a liberated website where you crapper additionally see the entrance of SSNs of person persons. The rational here is quite only – indistinguishability humbug crapper also be carried discover by forward the indistinguishability of a person person! In housing you’re wondering the place come.

How to Act on a First Date

The key to a successful first date is to relax and just be the real you. If you try to act in a way that you think the other person will like, then they may start liking someone who you are not, and in the end you will wind up breaking up and getting hurt, so honest truly is the best policy, and in the end if you are just being you and it does not work you, you know they were not the one for you.

Dating is like gambling at poker, sure a good bluff may win you a hand or two but you are not going to win the World Series of Poker by bluffing, only by playing the best you can. This is no different from dating if you make things up to try and impress this person they are not liking you but are liking the fake you and eventually they will see the two are no the same.

Try to think back to the things you talked about when the both of you spoke on the phone and see if you learned anything that may help you decide where to go for your date, but if you do not have enough information about them to know what they may like you sometimes have to gamble and throw the dice, and hope you don’t crap out.

The most important thing to do on a first date is to have a good time, the bigger a deal you make of it the harder it is going to be and the higher the chances of you making a jerk of yourself. If you are nervous before the date take a few minutes and take a few deep breaths and if this does not help then I recommend you do what I like to do in the casinos when my nerves are bothering me I simply have a drink. The alcohol in one drink will usually calm me down enough to concentrate.

The key to having a nice first date is simple:

Take her/ him to a nice place, quite but not too quiet, you should be able to hear each other but other distractions are also good for those uncomfortable moments.

Do not take her/ him to a place where your friends hang out, this will make her/ him feel as if they are being ganged up on or they may feel out of place and resent you for making them feel that way.

It is very important to have the whole night planned out already before the date and have a backup idea just incase. The tricky part is making it look like it was not all planned. Let's say you decide that you are going to take her for dinner, then after you want to take a walk on the beach do not just say hey after dinner let's take a walk on the beach. I would recommend you wait till after dinner and ask her if she wants to take a walk to burn off dinner and then take her to the beach.

Then when you are on the beach take her/his hand while walking, this makes a physical connection between you and makes it easier later on when you go for your first kiss.

Just remember that dating is a gambling sometimes you are going to get a bad hand and eventually if you play your cards right you will find the right person and win the jackpot.

Hotels: How to Get Free Gifts

Planning to visit Las Vegas or any other vacational resort where casinos are a major portion of their business? I have just the thing for you. Here, I will show you how to pass off as a High Roller and collect many complimentary items and gifts.

What is the Secret?
The Secret is that you have to make them believe you are rich and love gambling. In short you have to impersonate a High Roller.

Why?
Hotels love high rollers because these players leave behind thousands of dollars each visit. And the real cool part about this is that if you act the role, casinos will lavish you with the same gifts and complimentary items that a real High Roller would receive.

How ?
It is not that difficult to fool the hotel and resorts with some finesse and true self-confidence. It can be done.

1) The Way you Dress:
Elegant and smart is the way to go. Opt out of the baseball cap, t-shirt and jeans. Try and wear a suit or at least a regular buttoned shirt with an elegant dark jacket. It was Shakespeare who said that the clothes maketh a man, and so too, when going to a hotel resort. They judge you according to how you dress, so dress according to the role.

2) A Large Pad of Notes:
Yes. Just like in the movies. Carry a large bundle of notes with you and keep them in plain sight. You do not have to really take with you that much. Instead, take a few notes and place them at the top and at the bottom of real note-size paper cuttings. Just remember to never expose this while you are in the casino. Use other notes you’re your wallet instead. But do it nonchalantly so that none of the casino personnel will notice.

3) Always Flash Your Notes Around: No matter where you go, whether its to the hotel restaurant for lunch or for to the bar. They will be watching. From time to time, use that money to play at a range of table games or video game and bet some of that money. Remember you must use some of your money to play but just do not use all of it.

4) Play Complicated Games:
This is one of the more problematic things to do and requires some training at home. Learn on your own how to lay and how to bet on the high rolling games such as roulette, baccarat and craps. You could also play poker or Texas holdem in one of the larger ante tables, but in any case stick to your plan and you will soon reap the flowers.

Conclusion:
Above, I have outlined some of the more practical methods by which one can save money by receiving gifts from the casino. These gifts range from casino comps (free money to play), room deals that can get nearly free and many others such as free drinks, clothes, coupon to stores in Las Vegas and many more. Note that what you are doing here is completely legal provided you don't take up a false name or falsify your passport card.

Honoring Women Who Are More Than Worth It

Every day, everywhere, a woman is making a difference in her community and adding beauty to the world around her through her words and deeds.

These actions define her because she knows that the simple act of giving back is a key component of her own sense of self-worth.

The phrase "Because I'm Worth It" has been a part of popular culture since 1973, when it was introduced in an advertising campaign. These four words have become synonymous with empowered women who embrace their beauty and personal strength and who proudly express a sense of self-worth.

The signature phrase is now becoming part of a national outreach program that identifies and honors local heroines whose achievements and commitment make them worthy of the newly developed Women of Worth title.

Through this new program, L'Oréal Paris is creating a Women of Worth Community, a continually growing group of extraordinary women that connects the personal commitment, community and well-being of women everywhere.

Now, women who give of themselves will receive more than just an increased sense of self-worth-they can get the recognition and credit they so richly deserve.

With the launch of the Women of Worth program, seven wise and bold-spirited women who are inspirations to their communities and beyond will be identified and honored. Each will receive a $5,000 contribution to her charity of choice. Additionally, L'Oréal Paris, which created the program, will match that donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) on behalf of the award winner.

Know a woman who's making a beautiful difference in your community? Nominate her and you'll both become a part of the Women of Worth Community.

Hong Kong Boy Gives Peace a Chance

"Misunderstanding and contradictions can build walls around people, shrouding all of us in darkness," said Cheuk Tat Li, a 12-year-old student from Hong Kong. "People will then live in a place without peace, warmth and happiness."

With a vivid imagination and dreams of a harmonious world, Li created the grand prize-winning poster in the 2004-2005 Lions International Peace Poster Contest.

"Trying its best and overcoming all difficulties, the dove breaks the solid walls into pieces with its tiny beak to save the world which is trapped in the dark maze," Li said when describing his winning poster.

The contest provides children ages 11, 12 and 13 with a means to share their views on peace. An estimated 350,000 children participated in this year's program, "Give Peace a Chance."

Since its beginning in 1988, more than 3 million children in nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest. Lions Clubs International, the world's largest service club organization, sponsors the contest in local schools and organized youth groups.

At this year's final judging, members of the art, education, media, peace and youth communities gathered at The Peace Museum in Chicago to evaluate the 114 posters on creativity, artistic merit and expression of theme. The posters were previously narrowed down at several levels of judging before being sent to Lions Clubs International Headquarters in Oak Brook, Ill.

As this year's grand-prize winner, Li was presented with an award and $2,500 during a special ceremony at "Lions Day with the United Nations" in New York City. Li was a merit award winner in last year's contest.

Twenty-three merit award winners were each awarded $500 and a certificate of merit. This year's merit award winners are from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Guam, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Peru, Poland, Thailand and the United States.

All 24 posters will appear in an exhibit that will travel to children's museums and various events throughout the United States.

Homeless Youths Are Finding A Home And Hope

A program committed to helping young people make the transition from homelessness and hopelessness to stability and success is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Each year, more than one million young people under age 21 find themselves homeless in the United States. Many are runaways, throwaways (young people asked to leave home) or youths who have aged out of the foster care system.

For these homeless youths, life on the streets means not knowing where or when they will get another meal. Often, life on the streets can lead to more dangerous and damaging activities such as drug abuse, gang affiliation, prostitution and panhandling.

Fortunately for these young people, Covenant House administers a program called Rights of Passage that's designed to assist motivated young people ages 18 to 21 who need a place to stay while they train for a job with a future.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Rights of Passage program enables young people to live at Covenant House for up to 18 months while they learn a vocation, earn a GED, work a steady job or take college courses. When these young people graduate from the program, most are in a position to live stable and productive lives off the streets.

In 2005, Covenant House enabled nearly 60,000 young people throughout the U.S. to take their first steps toward a brighter future thanks to Rights of Passage and the many other programs offered by Covenant House-a nonprofit child welfare agency with 15 sites in the United States.

"For Rights of Passage to reach this historic mark is a very special moment for Covenant House," said Bruce J. Henry, Executive Director of Covenant House New York and a Founder of the Covenant House Rights of Passage Program. "During the past 20 years, thousands of youths at Covenant House sites throughout the U.S. and Canada have graduated from ROP and entered the world as self-sufficient adults. Their individual stories of struggle and ultimate achievement are the reason Covenant House means so much to all of us."

While some young people only went to a Covenant House site for short-term crisis care-such as a hot meal, a bed and new clothes--others worked with counselors and eventually enrolled in the Rights of Passage program.

Covenant House has ROP programs in Alaska, California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Texas, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington, D.C.

Approximately 85 percent of the funding for Covenant House programs comes from private donors. Their continued financial support is crucial. In addition, volunteers are needed to serve as mentors to young people in the ROP program.

Holiday's Best Selling Consumer Electronics

Shopping for the holiday season, you can never go wrong with gadgets! Here is a list of the top selling consumer electronics this holiday season.

The Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) is currently the most purchased gadget on the market. Not only can this device play games, you can also watch movies and listen to MP3's anywhere, anytime. It also comes with WiFi technology, which allows you to link up with other players or browse the internet.

While the Sony PSP may be the big seller for the year, the iPod nano is expected to takeover the holiday market. This version of iPod is the middle child, between the iPod shuffle and full version of iPod. Available in 2 GB or 4 GB models, this device can store between 500 and 1,000 songs and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

Another gotta-have gadget this holiday season is the PalmOne Treo 650. One of the newest and most advanced smartphones on the market, this is a combination between a PDA and cell phone. No more carrying around two little lifesavers; now you can have everything you need in one convenient device.

The Toshiba Qosmio G25-AV513 is the latest in laptop multimedia technology. This machine combines DVD, DVR, TV, MP3, and games — oh yeah, and it is also a computer! Not only does it come with an incredible 17" monitor, but high end speakers and a remote control.

Possibly the most interesting of all of the holiday sellers is the Sling Media Slingbox. This amazing gadget is wanted by everyone and is becoming harder and harder to find. It allows you to remotely connect and view your home television from virtually any computer. You can even view recordings captured on your TiVo! For television enthusiasts, this is an ideal gift that will knock them off their feet.

Multimedia devices seem to be taking over the market. It should be no surprise, then, that the Archos Gmini 420 is high on Christmas lists this year. This miniature toy allows you to enjoy 10,000 songs, 80 hours of video or 200,000 photos. With a massive 20 GB capacity, it is astounding this machine weighs less than 6 ounces. More proof that mobility is becoming essential in all electronic equipment; this is a huge product for the holidays.

Also big in stores this season are the Sony Ericsson W800i, the Nokia N90, and the Motorola Ravr V3. Combining all the features typical of cell phones these days, these tout cameras, MP3 capabilities, and connectivity. However, they each have a unique feature, such as direct phone printing, FM radio, and a small size.

History Needs A Hand

Every year, America devotes time for communities to honor the past and take pride in preserving it for the future. As government spending on preservation programs continues to decline drastically-in 2007, the budget will be cut by $15 million-May's National Preservation Month highlights the critical role that individuals and communities will have to play in protecting our country's history. It is through involvement in local preservation efforts such as saving the oldest drive-in movie theater, the Admiral Twin Drive-In in Oklahoma, or restoring Hogback Bridge in Iowa, one of the famed Bridges of Madison County, that citizens can do their part in restoring and revitalizing their communities.

There are several easy ways to get involved.

VISIT THE LIBRARY-Every community is infused with local and historical significance; most of us have just not taken time or don't know how to research it. A good place to start is the library. Make an event out of it-take the family for an afternoon and challenge one another to identify street corners and houses you're familiar with that hold historical significance.

TAKE A LOOK AROUND-When you see a landmark that looks like it is in need of restoration, tell someone. There are a number of organizations that recognize the importance of preserving communities throughout America. For example, Hampton Hotels' Save-A-Landmark™ Program encourages people to submit a community landmark for consideration to assist in revitalizing and refurbishing. Submissions can be made online at www.hampton landmarks.com or mailed to Save-A-Landmark at 8730 Sunset Blvd., Fifth Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90069. It's an easy way to make a big difference.

SUPPORT MAIN STREET -Many store owners have been in business for generations. By supporting these establishments, you're not only helping to protect any historic buildings they might be housed in, you're also encouraging the economy and helping a fellow community member. Not to mention that if they have been in business that long, they must have something great to offer.

GET INVOLVED-Join national, statewide or local organizations dedicated to preservation. A good resource to help identify these is the National Trust for Historic Preservation, where you can become a member online or research preservation groups and projects in your area.

A crew of volunteers is hard at work refurbishing one of the Bridges of Madison County as part of the "Save-A-Landmark" program.

Helping Homeless Youths Rebuild Their Lives

You can make a difference in millions of fragile young lives.

Every night on streets throughout the Americas, an army of nameless, faceless young people fights to survive. They are homeless youths, driven to the streets by situations including physical, emotional or sexual abuse, parental drug or alcohol abuse or discharge from foster care.

There are approximately 3.5 million people who experience homelessness every year and 12 percent of them are unaccompanied young people under age 24. More than half say they have been beaten up while on the street. Many also report being robbed, stabbed, even shot.

The complications of life on the street cause many of these young people to lose hope, making it difficult-if not impossible-to transition into adulthood as happy, productive members of society. Covenant House provides the support and guidance necessary for these young people to rebuild their lives.

Helping Children With Disabilities Get "Fit For The Future"

A new program may help improve the lives of children with disabilities-and help them better manage their health.

Sixty-six percent of adults with disabilities are not very satisfied with their lives; 78 percent are unemployed; and they have increased health concerns, including greater susceptibility to additional health problems.

However, a new DVD may help improve the future outlook for children with disabilities. Called "Fit for the Future," it addresses two of the most important issues facing people with disabilities today: health and employment. The DVD was released by Shriners Hospitals for Children and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

"Fit for the Future" is meant to be a unique, innovative program that fills a void in available materials. The DVD includes three 20- to 30-minute, upbeat, kid-friendly exercise routines-stretching, strengthening and stamina-that can be done seated or standing. The exercise portion of the DVD features patients and therapists from the Tampa Shriners Hospital, as well as FBI personnel from Tampa, Fla., Washington, D.C., and Quantico, Va.

The program also includes informational sections on the Shriners fraternity, Shriners Hospitals for Children and the FBI.

The DVD has a second, equally important message of potential future employment. Statistically, people with disabilities have the highest unemployment rate (around 70 percent). Learning that the FBI specifically wants to hire people with disabilities could be a tremendous source of encouragement for kids with disabilities.

While designed primarily for children with orthopaedic disabilities, "Fit for the Future" is an exercise program virtually everyone can use. The exercise routines featured are general and basic enough to offer a starting point for a fitness regimen.

There is a growing awareness of the importance of providing exercise opportunities for people with disabilities. "We believe that a program featuring children with disabilities, as well as the strong presence of an FBI Agent as both partner and role model, may help motivate children with disabilities to exercise," said Peter Armstrong, M.D., medical affairs director for Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Credit for the concept belongs to FBI Special Agent James Knights, who is also a Shriner. Knights, of Pittsburgh, Pa., wanted to create a way to help children with disabilities know that if they worked hard and stayed as strong and healthy as possible, their future could include a career in the FBI.
