Music Teachers Team Up To Feed Hungry Children
Tune in to a rewarding charity. The World's Largest Concert (WLC) is a musical performance in March celebrating Music In Our Schools Month. This year, the organizer of the event, MENC: The National Association for Music Education, is collaborating with Feed The Children (FTC), an international nonprofit relief organization that delivers food, medicine, clothing and other necessities to children and families who lack these essentials due to famine, war, poverty, or natural disaster.
Before children can learn music, they must have the most basic of life's necessities, such as food, clean water and health care. That's why MENC is working to raise $1.2 million to support FTC's important work.
The WLC is a sing-along concert that links students around the world through music. It involves an estimated six million students, teachers, and music supporters each year as performers or audience members. Through the support of the PAX Network, PBS stations, educational networks, and the American Forces Television and Radio Network, the program is broadcast across the United States and abroad on the second Thursday in March. As part of the concert program, MENC and FTC are working together to help children across the country by providing food for those in need-and by supporting children's involvement in music. One hundred percent of all donations through MENC go directly to FTC. With just $8, FTC can feed a hungry child for an entire month. $140 delivers 1,000 pounds of food.

Of Humanity And Cruelity
This is story of a girl. A girl supposed to have a very soft heart. A very sensitive girl. Someone one could call as a compassionate person. I will tell you about how she acquired her pet, rather two pets. And how one was beaten by her father and the other was beaten dead by herself. Let me begin.
She had gone to visit one of her relatives many years back. They had a litter of puppies. This girl fell in love with one of them and brought him back with her, only to face the wrath of her father. She was ordered to take the puppy back. This was a big shock and she was in tears. She talked about this with her other pet. A man. Someone she treated as her own child. They both cried together and this man prayed that the father allows her to keep her puppy. Ultimately the father relented after two days and all was well.
One day some guests came to their home. The dog was tied and locked separately. But the dog wrongly thought that he was part of the family and wanted to mingle with the guests. The dog made a blunder by thinking like this. The family was not even of humans, nor of animals. Because even animals have compassion. These people belonged to some unknown cruel specie. True to character, the father took hold of the poor helpless dog and beat him blue. May Satan bless the father. Our girl of the story was heart-broken after this. She could not believe that her father could behave so cruelly.
Next what? I told you in the beginning about a man, who was a pet of this girl. Do you recollect? Now was the turn of the girl. She made the man fall in total love with her and become totally dependent, emotionally. And one fine day, she started beating this man. Like the dog, this man was shocked and could not believe it. So he went to the girl again thinking of their love. He was beat up again. This continued till the man turned a lunatic and was killed in all the ways.
After reading this story, will you have any faith left in words such as love, loyalty, truth, honesty, etc? Beware of humans. They turn into beasts. Befriend beasts. Because they always remain only beasts. They don't turn into something else. They will never turn a person into a lunatic.

Households Dumping Their Home Phones
According to the National Health Interview Survey, conducted by the U.S. Center for Disease Control, about 3 in 10 households either only use mobile phones or rarely take calls on their landlines.
The federal figures, released Wednesday, showed that reliance on cells is continuing to rise at the expense of wired telephones. In the second half of last year, 16 percent of households only had cell phones, while 13 percent also had landlines but got all or nearly all their calls on their cells.
The number of wireless-only households grew by 2 percent since the first half of last year. Underscoring the rapid growth, in early 2004 just 5 percent had only cell phones.
During the second half of last year, 16% of households only had mobiles, while 13% had mobiles and landlines but took nearly all calls on their mobiles. Wireless-only houses grew 2% between the first and second half of 2007. In early 2004, only 5% of households only had mobile phones.
We've written about the decline in landline use before, and these numbers are not surprising at all. I have been pushing hard with my wife to give up our landline but haven't broken through yet. My guess is that it'll happen in the next 12-18 months in our household.

-Low-income people are likelier than the more affluent to have only cell phones.
-Those with only cells tend to be living with unrelated roommates, renters rather than homeowners, and Hispanics and blacks rather than whites.

Lions Clubs Answer Call For Disaster Relief
Lions Clubs International has a long record of aiding those affected by natural and other disasters.
When a tsunami struck Southeast Asia in December 2004, Lions were among the first on the scene, providing immediate relief to the tens of thousands who lost everything. Again, in August 2005, Lions demonstrated how they answer the immediate needs of communities by rushing to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Through Lions Clubs International Foundation, Lions provide long-term assistance, continuing after many other organizations have left the area. Every dollar donated to LCIF goes directly to a grant. Since it began in 1968, LCIF has awarded $356.9 million to help Lions serve others.
Lions mobilized nearly $12 million for tsunami victims. In the Aceh province of Indonesia, Lions built 205 homes. They also plan to build a school and fund "economic revival" projects such as fishing boats. A $900,000 grant from LCIF is aiding Lions in Thailand in building an entire village on the devastated Lanta islands.
In Sri Lanka, Lions are building 3,000 homes. Lions also will provide psychological treatment and physical rehabilitation for children and adults.
Since many Southeast Asians lost their eyeglasses when the tsunami destroyed their homes, Lions from California distributed recycled eyeglasses and taught 125 Sri Lankan Lions how to use two donated lensometers and run an eyeglass recycling operation.
Lions also staffed shelters and collected funds, food and supplies for Hurricane Katrina victims. The Louisiana Lions Children's Camp in Leesville housed and fed hundreds of people who fled north from New Orleans before Katrina hit. Lions also helped at larger venues such as the Louisiana State University gym and the Houston Astrodome, which housed thousands of displaced people.

Every school child has probably heard of George Washington and Paul Revere, but African-American hero Ned Hector hasn't made it into most history books.
Now visitors to the Valley Forge area will hear about Hector and other black heroes of the American Revolution and Civil War, through special events and tours.
African-Americans' proud history of service in our Armed Forces began with the American Revo-lution, when more than 5,000 soldiers of African descent fought in the Continental Army. Many shared the hardships of the winter encampment at Valley Forge, when the Continental army was forged into a fighting force that went on to win the American Revolution.
Some won their own freedom as well; others found themselves and their descendants relegated to slavery.
At special events throughout the year, visitors will meet Ned Hector, who was a hero of the Battle of Brandywine and also fought at the Battle of Germantown.
At Valley Forge, every Saturday through the summer months, they'll meet Hannah Till, George Washington's cook, who was born into slavery and worked hard to buy her freedom.
The compelling stories of soldiers, slaves, and abolitionists from the Revolution through the Civil War are told at special events throughout the Valley Forge area, and on guided tours of the region. Visitors to Valley Forge National Historical Park, Brandywine Bat-tlefield, Johnson House Under-ground Railroad site and other sites will hear stories of ordinary people with extraordinary determination who changed the nation's history.
The Valley Forge Convention and Visitors Bureau has developed tours to cater to visitors' preferences. Self-guided African-Amer-ican Heritage Discovery Tours let visitors travel at their own pace, stopping to shop or visit the region's many gardens, museums and attractions.
African-American Freedom Trail Group Tours are ideal for family reunions, conferences, conventions, and religious and military reunions.

Who Is Evil
The world is made of good and evil people. There are some, who are nothing but emperors of evilness. Hitler was one such person. There are many like him. But we also have evil persons in our society who are generally not considered evil, but are evil. Let me give my thoughts on such people.
For me, a person who hits a stray dog with a stone just for fun is a bad person. One who gives pains to friends for no reason is a bad person. One who looks at wrong things, and decides to do nothing is evil. One who hurts feelings of loved ones is a bad person. One who lets other people sleep in hunger without doing anything about them is a bad person. One who wants bigger share of the pie is a bad person. One who shouts and makes others fear him/her is a bad person. One who never tries to understand feelings of others is a bad person. One who treats poor people as dirt, is a bad person. One who decides about characters by looks and passes judgments is a bad person. One who reads a sad story in the newspaper, without getting affected in any way is a bad person. One who shows no respect for those who work for others is a bad person. One who does not sympathize at others losses is a bad person. One who always tries to prove his/her superiority over others is a bad person. On and on I can write. What is not good is bad. That is how I call such people bad. Rather than calling them as not good persons, I call them as bad persons. All this may look quite shocking and many will protest about what all I have written above. All right, let me say, that I will not call the person a bad person, but the act as a bad act. I hope that now I am more acceptable.

Young Tsunami Survivors Find New Start At Shriners Hospitals
When the Indian Ocean tsunami crashed ashore on December 26, 2004, many things were lost. Homes were swept away, belongings gone forever. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their lives in the disaster. And many of those who survived, including children, literally lost a part of themselves.
Seven-year-old Tara Aulia and 11-year-old Hamdani survived the tsunami that ripped through their villages in Indonesia's Aceh province, but along with their homes and family members, both children lost a limb.
Despite the horrors Tara and Hamdani experienced and the steep odds they faced at obtaining proper medical care, they had reason to celebrate less than a year later. Both children were given a new start and new prosthetics at Shriners Hospitals for Children - Philadelphia.

"Without this help, I don't know what she would do, how she would live," said Tara's father, Sulaiman Aulia.
Seven-year-old Tara Aulia and 11-year-old Hamdani survived the tsunami that ripped through their villages in Indonesia's Aceh province, but along with their homes and family members, both children lost a limb.
Despite the horrors Tara and Hamdani experienced and the steep odds they faced at obtaining proper medical care, they had reason to celebrate less than a year later. Both children were given a new start and new prosthetics at Shriners Hospitals for Children - Philadelphia.

Pain Of Living
Pain. Immense pain. Sometimes unbearable, and sometimes incomprehensible. So many of us live life in pain. The pain of decision-making. The pain of thinking about life. The pain of keeping dead relationships alive. The pain of memories that haunt us. The pain of fear. The pain of getting up in the morning and the pain of sleepless nights. The pain of loss of someone most dear and the pain of waiting for them to return. Pain, and more pain in everything.
It is life. The life of pain. Look at your own eyes in the mirror and many times you will see the pain of tiredness. The pain of trying to run away from pain. Why? Because, we all live. Yes, pain comes because we live. Only dead have peace. Or very small children or saints. Rest of us are in some pain at all the times. Pain becomes such an essential part of life that many times, we tend to forget that we are living in pain. We become unaware of a life of cheer, and a painless life.
Is there anyway to counter the pains? Sometimes, when we begin losing our balance, we do approach psychiatrists. But if the choice is wrong, that may lead to bigger pain. Is a president of a nation without any pains? Ask him/her and you will get a basketful of surprises. Is a young teenager without pain? Ask and you will get another basket. Keep on listing and keep on asking. CEOs of companies, students, junior executives, shop owners, movie makers, celebrities, poor people...The list will be endless and so will be the story of pains.
Any way out of pains? One can reflect about what is happening in one's life that is killing the essence of living. But that exercise will not take away any pain, unless we change ourselves totally. How to do that? Let us begin with reflecting and finding out what gives us pains. Count even the smallest pain. Let the journey of making enquiries begin. Coming out of pains will only follow that exercise. Take the first step. After reflecting about and counting all the pains, you may realize that some pains are totally inescapable.

Office Theft: More Common Than Many Think
The good news: Many workers feel quite at home in the office. The bad news: Some of them feel so much at home, they take the office home with them in ways they shouldn't. In fact, 58 percent of office workers have taken office supplies for their personal use, according to a new survey conducted by Harris Interactive and lawyers.com. These people should know they're putting themselves at risk of being fired and of possible legal consequences for taking home company property, even something as small as a stapler or a pen.
Among those who admit to taking office supplies for personal use, the most commonly stolen office supplies include pens/pencils (77 percent), followed by self-adhesive "sticky" notes (44 percent) and paper clips (40 percent). Two percent of workers even take decorations such as plants, paintings and office furniture.
It can happen more easily than you may realize. "People often forget that workplace resources are not their own and are actually considered company property," said attorney Alan Kopit, legal editor of LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell's lawyers.com, which is considered the most comprehensive and trustworthy online resource for finding lawyers. "We are not just talking about pens and paper here; employees are also stealing expensive things, too, like computers, software and books." Kopit suggests employees review their office policy and be sure their behavior follows the regulations.
Employee theft costs small businesses billions of dollars a year-costs passed on to consumers in terms of higher prices and to other workers in terms of lower wages and fewer benefits. After all, in addition to pens and paper, some people also steal resources directly related to the productivity of the business, such as classified information, patents, corporate contacts, case studies and periodicals.

Wrong Blames Can Kill A Life
To blame means to accuse someone of doing something wrong. It is very easy to put blame on a person when things begin going wrong and hammer that person left and right for being responsible for all the mess. Let us look at this further.
Sometimes, in our personal relationships, when we say that things are in mess, the truth may be different. The situation may not be messy, but our viewpoint may have become messy. What we call as going wrong may indeed be going wrong, but not in the way we look at it. Let me try to explain. Some of us lie. We get caught, or feel guilty. We blame someone for exposing our lie and making a mess of something good. Can a lie be good? We wished our lies to flourish and keep us safe from the bitterness of truth, but our comfort zone got broken because of the exposure. Is this bad? Or our viewpoint was wrong to begin with? When we think more, we find that truth may be very bitter and highly discomforting, but it is always better than a lie. Is it correct to blame a person who exposed our lies? But we do that. Blame the other person for making us face the music. What the other person did was correct but since it hurts us, we accuse.
Let me tell you something. What if someone accuses you of crimes never committed by you? What if the accuser himself/herself was the guilty party, but targeted you because you are a soft target? Between a couple this happens. If one of the partners is a compassionate person, the other partner can develop the habit of blaming him/her all the time of all the crimes realizing well, that no retaliation will occur.
Many of us act like brutes at times and then we suffer in the guilt for a lifetime. Some of us, who are evil people never, suffer any guilt. But some of us carry the guilt of having done something wrong forever in our life. This guilt will never go, because the deed was indeed done. Why not to desist doing wrong? Why to travel on a wrong path? Why to torture others with blames that they never deserve?

Hundreds of Thousands Come Together to Pray
On Sept. 8, hundreds of thousands of people will come together in prayer during the 12th annual Unity World Day of Prayer. This interfaith event is open to people of all religions and all walks of life.
Unity is a worldwide movement founded in 1889 that helps people of all faiths apply positive spiritual principles to their daily lives. It is best known for Daily Word, a monthly magazine of inspirational messages that is distributed to about 1 million people in 175 countries.
Since 1994, millions of people have been embraced in prayer during special World Day of Prayer vigils held at many of the nearly 900 Unity churches and centers around the world. Last year, participants offered prayers for an estimated 1.3 million people during the prayer vigil at the Unity world headquarters at Unity Village, Mo.
"This is a day filled with the energy of prayer," said Tom Zender, president of Unity. "As people around the world join in prayer on this day, the energy intensifies. It will be a day of transformation."

The Word "Love" is Overused in Todays Society
The word "love" is used in many different situations. The word is defined as an extreme affection towards someone or something; however this is not the case in which it is used by most.
People tend to use the word just the same as any other. No actual meaning to it -- it seems that whenever someone says "I love you" they don't actually mean it. The meaning I LOVE YOU has now shrunk to a simple I love you. It has lost its significance, its shnaz!
I hear young people saying it all the time, fourteen, fifteen year olds telling it to each other like candy. It should be something special, not something you throw out at somebody who you've only known a week or two.
Love is developed over a long period of time. Yes, there are those few cases of "love at first site," but this is a very rare occurrence and shouldn't be someone's first priority to claim their love the first moment they see them.
Love is when you would do anything to be able to see this person. It is when you jump in front of a car and push your love out of the way to save their life. It is when you can't stand one moment without him/her. It is when you think about him/her the first moment you wake up and the last second before you sleep at night. Love can not be duplicated. Love is love and everything else.
You can not claim you love someone unless you have that special feeling deep down whenever you see that person. You feel lifted off your feet and have all your fears taken away.
The word should not be thrown around like a piece of meet, but preserved for that special someone who will not leave you for another woman or man and would do anything for you to be with them and you the same.
Save the word for the right person. Preserve the meaning of love and use it towards those who deserve it.

What It Takes to Fix Our Immigration System
There is a consensus in the United States today that our immigration system is broken. The question is "What is required to fix it?"
It is clear that more of the same will not work.
There are an estimated 11 million undocumented persons living and working in the United States today. Smugglers, traffickers and criminals preying on undocumented migrants have a growing negative impact on border communities.
Nearly 2,000 migrants have died trying to cross our border from the south from 1998 through 2003, and nearly 400 migrants continue to die at our borders every year.
America needs comprehensive immigration reform that will make immigration safe, orderly and legal. Such reform must provide three things:
* an opportunity for people already living and working here to earn permanent legal status;
* a new temporary worker program with adequate labor protections, so that essential workers can enter the U.S. safely, legally and expeditiously;
* backlog reductions in family-based immigration so that families can unite in a timely way.
Proposals that fail to embrace these components and seek only to increase enforcement of the current system will only exacerbate current problems.
Congress may enact harsh enforcement measures, such as the Sensenbrenner bill passed in the House of Representatives, which do nothing to increase our nation's security. Such measures only increase the pressures on hardworking but undocumented immigrants and force them to seek dangerous paths of entry to the U.S., where increasing numbers will die attempting to cross.
Or Congress can engage the debate and enact realistic and comprehensive reform, which will ensure the U.S. remains a nation of immigrants in the decades to come.

We All Want POWER
Admit it or not, we all have a need for power.
Power provides each of us with several very essencial things; the feeling of being in control, the feeling that we're right, a sense of security and the hope that we can accomplish what we want most for ourselves.
With Mind Control there is no doubt that it appeals to that very base need for power.
Even the most introspective and peace loving have to admit that the real power of mind control comes in two forms 1) external - controlling others and the environment and 2) internal - the ability to control our own thoughts, feelings and responses.
Here is a little mind control tip that anyone can use that will appeal to both aspects of mind control.
When interacting with someone what can you do to allow them to perceive as if they have power?
A simple example is ask them to do something that is slightly outside of what they believe is their current ability. In asking that give them the support and encouragement that they need to get the job done.
Here are the benefits as they relate to mind control.
First it will demonstrate to you that you have at least some power over people and your environment secondly, and most importantly, it will demonstrate that you have some personal and internal control over yourself to do it.
The main problem with people who suffer from shyness and want to control it that they are too much in their own heads wondering "What should I do next?" or telling themselves "This is stupid." In so doing they are not truly aware of their external surroundings and therefore not able to control it.

Teen Safety In The Workplace
When teenagers go off to work-sometimes for the first time in their lives-parents want to know they will be safe in the workplace. Who will look out for their safety? Industrial hygienists are professionals who specialize in ensuring safe and healthy work environments for employees of all ages.
Are teenagers safe in the workplace? Do they know what to watch out for in terms of safety? Consider these statistics from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH):
• On average, 45 percent of American teens are employed each year-more than any other developed country.
• More than three million U.S. teens enter the workforce every summer and thousands of these teens are admitted to emergency rooms due to work-related injuries.
• Nearly 200,000 adolescents suffer injuries on the job and approximately 70 die from these injuries each year.
• Teens have the highest rate of nonfatal work-related injuries, even though they encounter the same potential on-the-job hazards as adults.
• The reasons for teen work-related accidents include lack of experience, gaps in current laws and enforcement, inexperienced supervisors, working in industries that don't generally hire professionals trained in industrial hygiene and/or safety, physical limitations due to lack of size and strength, and simple lack of maturity ("goofing off" on the job).
• The majority of deaths and injuries of teen workers on the job occur in retail stores and restaurants.
• Common potential hazards include automobile and machinery operation (for teens old enough for such tasks), working in high-homicide industries such as retail, working with or near electrical or hot equipment, working jobs with fall hazards, and working jobs requiring manual lifting.

Making The Move Easier On Children
Whether it's across the country or down the block, moving can be stressful. Experts agree this is particularly true for young children, who often fear leaving their friends and familiar surroundings for a new home. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, more than 10 million children relocate each year, leaving many parents to struggle with how to create a smooth move for their kids.
Allied Van Lines has teamed up with Thomas Olkowski, Ph.D., a top child psychologist and author of "Moving with Children," to offer expert advice designed to help parents ease their youngsters through the relocation process.
"While moving to a new home is exciting, it often means a new school, new friends and a whole new life for children," says Dr. Olkowski. "It's natural for them to feel nervous. Luckily, there are a few simple steps parents can take to calm their child's fears and make the transition easier for the whole family."

Lucky Escapes From Terrorist Attacks
I have met many people over the last number of years in my business line of work, stammering tuition, and have heard a couple of remarkable stories of how they narrowly avoided a terrorist attack.
The first was a man who was in New York at the time of the attack on the twin towers. He and his friends from England had been in New York for around a week and were due to fly back home on September 11th. On the tenth of September they decided to go to the twin towers, firstly to have a look and secondly to take some photos from the top.
They had to wait a long time until it was their turn to purchase their tickets. The man who was serving behind the counter asked the a question: "Are you here to take photographs lads, or just a general look around? If you are here to take photographs it might be worth waiting until tommorrow, as it is quite cloudy up there today. I can sell you the tickets today, so when you arrive tommorrow you do not have to wait etc."
They agreed this was a good idea and planned to return early in the morning.
"What shall we do now then" said one of the group of lads.
They discussed the options and decided to go to a bar and to have a few drinks. A few drinks turned into a lot of drinks. In the morning they all slept in to recover from the alcohol and when they awoke they quickly heard the news.
Alcohol had possibly saved their lives.

Love - Begin With Vigor After Failure
Defeat in love is very disheartening. You love some body dearly and he/she does not reciprocate your feelings at all. Or you have already gone a long distance with someone and he/she goes alone after that. Any failure in love and dating takes the strength away. It kills something inside and the defeat makes another attempt look very difficult. Is this acceptable. Can life not be carried on after such defeats? Why get disheartened and blame ones fate? Why lower self-esteem? Why do all that self-beating?
Success is not our right, nor failure our destiny. Life is a hurdle race. Every life has its ups and downs. The winner is one who gets up after falling again and again. You will say - Easier said than done. I agree. Failure in love is very destructive. We invest quite a lot in love. After that when we face defeat, we feel cheated and helpless. We feel that fate has dealt poor cards to us. It is no doubt difficult to bear the pain.
What should be done? Analyze why this failure happened/ if you find any fault of your own, please correct it. If you find fault of your beloved, please forgive. Begin making contacts again. Search for your soul mate again. Have faith that this time you will get someone real good and worthy of your love. Forget the past. Erase it. Look at it dispassionately and res energize yourself. It is difficult, but it can be done.
Thinking of past failure will only bring more pain. Visualize yourself becoming successful. Think of all the good days that are waiting for you. Think of a future that will be very bright. Fight every negative feeling with something more positive. Don’t give up. After every fall rise again. Success will be yours.

Piggotts, the Crown Group’s marquee and furniture hire supplier provided two large hospitality marquees for a recent Tsunami Memorial Service at St Paul’s Cathedral.
This prestigious event was hosted by The Department of Culture, Media and Sport, headed by the Secretary of State M.P. Rt Hon Tessa Jowell, in remembrance of the U.K. victims of the Indian Ocean tragedy last Boxing Day. In attendance was H.M. Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and 1250 survivors and their families together with the families of many victims. The occasion was broadcast live on TV and Radio and aired all around the world.
Once the service had concluded at St Paul’s, the congregation and guests retired to the hospitality marquees for refreshments. Says Bryan Ribbans, Sales Manager of Piggotts,” This was just the job that Piggott’s specialises in. It had all the elements that make marquee build’s ‘interesting. The largest marquee was 20m wide x 40m long and sited (actually ‘shoe-horned’ – it was a tight fit!) into Paternoster Square 100 yards from the Cathedral. The other, 12m wide x 50m long, was positioned right outside the Cathedral entrance.” He continues, “Once again, Piggotts is proud to be selected to carry out such a demanding build demonstrating that the small close-knit team based at Ongar are capable of building first-class structures when the eyes of the world are upon them, and against the clock.”

How To Make A Home-Made Mother's Day Card
Easy Photo Card
We all have them, photos of our kids. Well grab some construction paper or card stock, a photo and some glue and make this adorable little card.
You will need
construction paper or card stock
photo
scissors
glue
glitter
sheer ribbon
What you do
Fold paper or card stock in half to create a card. Have your child write their greeting inside the card FIRST.
Cut photo out in a heart shape. Glue photo to the front of the card, center it and put it high enough to allow space for the bow at the bottom.
Lay down some newspaper, wax paper, or other paper and set your card on that to catch excess glitter. Use glue to pipe a thick border around the photo. Sprinkle the glitter generously over the glue border. Be sure to completely cover all of the glue. Let it dry about 20 minutes. While the glue is drying, tie your ribbon into a bow and trim off the long ends. Once the glue is dry, carefully lift the card up and tap off all excess glitter. Place a dab of glue onto the back of the ribbon and adhere to the card under your photo. Let it dry completely before doing anything else with it. You can add or take away any of the items listed to make it more personal. Have fun with it! Mom will enjoy it forever!

Use your imagination, let it run wild.

Service Organization Provides Eye Banks in 13 Countries
On Dec. 7, 1905, Dr. Eduard Zirm performed the world's first corneal transplant in the what is now the Czech Republic. On the 100th anniversary of that historic procedure, the World Health Organization estimates that corneal transplants could restore the vision of 11 million people worldwide.
Since Helen Keller's call for Lions clubs members to become "Knights of the Blind" in 1925, Lions have dedicated themselves to aiding the blind and visually impaired. The service organization's support of eye bank services is one way it is answering this call.
The first Lions eye bank was established in 1944 in New York City, and today there are approximately 60 Lions eye banks in 13 countries. The Lions eye banks are not-for-profit organizations that must be sponsored by a Lions club or district and establish a working relationship with a medical facility.
Lions eye banks often provide healthy corneas to countries in Central and South America, Africa and Asia that do not have eye banks.
There are no professional fees or processing costs to the donor or the donor's family. Instead, the eye bank assumes all costs involved in procuring corneas.
Lions assist local eye banks as corneal tissue transporters and eye bank volunteers. Lions also encourage the public to become corneal tissue donors. Club members help to financially support the eye banks, holding fundraisers and purchasing necessary medical equipment.

Love Test - Will You Dump Her Because She Is Taller?
Let us take an example of a couple. The girl is taller than the man. They are both in deep love. They like each other and they want to be together. But conventions say that man should be taller than the girl. What should they do?
It is because of this belief that girl should be shorter than the boy, that both will be repeatedly taunted by their friends and family. They will be told that it all looks awkward. They will be obliquely advised to separate. The world never lets two lovers live in peace. The world always enters where it has no business. But the trouble is that we cannot go away and stay on a remote island. We have to live in the society and suffer.
If his pair marries, this fact will be pointed out by others and noticed for their lifetime. Even unknown people who have no business will look at them with surprise. That is the reality. In this scenario, what should they do? Should they separate?
Some may opine that they should separate. In my opinion, they should never. As far as they are comfortable with each other, love each other and like each other, they should ignore all the innuendos and stay together. Society has its collective reasoning that has developed over centuries. One of this is that since man is dominant, he should be taller. But society changes with time and conventions change with place. What is not acceptable in one country is welcome in other. Apart from all this reasoning, the central fact is love for each other. Till that remains, the couple should continue life together.

The "Getting Paid In America" survey, sponsored by the American Payroll Association, gives America's workers more than just a chance to win a free paycheck and a trip to Las Vegas. It also gives them a chance to weigh in on important payroll issues that affect everyone who receives a paycheck.
Challenges presented by an increasingly competitive global economy are forcing corporate America to look at new technologies and processes designed to improve the efficiency of payroll processing.
However, these new technologies raise many questions-such as how will personal information stored in company databases be secured? Or how will companies fail-safe disaster recovery plans to ensure that employees get paid even in the event of a hurricane or other natural disaster?
